Our Love Story

It’s wild to think Brittany and Rio were walking the same sidewalks, and driving the same roads for years. They went to the same shows at the Tanger Center, strolled downtown, and grabbed Cook Out milkshakes after long days. All that time, they lived just a few miles apart in Greensboro and had no idea the person they were praying for was living just down the road.

But God knew.

While life stayed busy with work and responsibilities, Brittany and Rio kept their focus on what mattered most: faith, family, serving others, and living with purpose. They each prayed quietly for a love that would reflect God's goodness and bring peace to the chaos. When He answered, He did it with abundance.

Their story started on a cold January night in Washington, D.C. During Inauguration weekend, Brittany was seated beside Mia (Rio's sister) at a pre gala dinner party. Within minutes, they were deep in conversation about Greensboro, mutual friends, adoption, their shared values, and the way faith shaped how they lived and loved. Meanwhile, just down the road, Rio was having dinner with his mom and brother. No one could have guessed how close their worlds were about to become.

A few weeks later, Brittany was off to join Mia and Alex (Mia's husband) at Sedgefield and then off to dinner at Marisol. Rio was also invited. It wasn’t planned as a setup, but something shifted that night. Between entrees and dessert, laughter flowed, and a spark quietly began to grow.

From that moment on, their story moved with quiet intention. Brittany brought joy, calm, and a softness to Rio’s full-throttle world. Rio brought steadiness, quiet strength, and a peace that made Brittany feel completely seen and safe. Their bond deepened with each conversation, each prayer, each ordinary moment that became sacred because they shared it together.

On a golden August evening at Carrollwood Farms, Rio took Brittany for a quiet drive. As the sun dipped below the trees, they arrived at a candlelit pavilion tucked at the end of a red dirt road. Surrounded by peace and prayer, Rio took Brittany's hand, dropped to one knee, and asked her to be his wife.

Brittany said YES! The newly engaged couple returned to the red barn and celebrated with the people who love them and had prayed for this moment from the beginning.

Rio and Brittany are building their life here in Greensboro. It’s where their roots are, where their faith was shaped, and where they plan to raise a family!

This love story wasn’t luck. It was the goodness of a faithful God who gives more than we could ask or imagine.
